What a lifechanger!
I was introduced to Yoga when I was 20 rather unconventionally through Peggy Halls ‘Yoga for Surfers III unleashed’ DVD. I was so fascinated by how ‘difficult’ it was and was hooked immediately. In retrospect it was not ‘difficult, I was just very ‘tight’ and far too competitive…
The journey unfolded from there. I have since had the amazing opportunity to complete a total of 500hrs of teacher training with Yoga Alliance UK. I am very grateful to be able to share the power and joy of yoga with others.
An Mor Yoga - ‘stretch, strength and a lot more’ - YOGA FOR SURFERS
An Mor (Cornish for ‘The Sea’) – my regular yoga class which I teach on a Wednesday evening at the Promenande Room in Perranporth or at the sundial if weather allows is inspired by the sea – vast, powerful, free, connected, timeless, beautifully flowing, calming, challenging and never the same.
Designed for surfers it is perfect if you are looking to take your surfing to the next level by improving your balance, focus, strength, flexibilty and recovery!
This class combines Hatha yoga with the well known Vinyasa flow and invites you to dive deep into all yoga has to offer, which goes far beyond the obvious benefits of strengthening your whole body and letting go of some of that ‘life-related’ tightness in your body.
yoga for healthy lower backs PROGRAM
The 12 week ‘Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs’-program (YHLB) is the one and only Yoga program specifically designed for people who have experienced recurrent episodes of back pain which has a solid evidence base. This is thanks to a large randomised-controlled trial which was published in 2011.
This gentle and beginner friendly program was found to improve back function significantly more than usual GP care.
In 2018 I received the ‘British Society of Lifestyle Medicine prize for Research/Evidence-based Care’ for a Cornwall based YHLB-Pilot which focused on the implementation of the YHLB-programme for NHS patients with chronic back pain.
The ‘YHLB’ pilot showed impressive results not only in regard to reduction of pain, anxiety and depression, but also regarding opioid medication use.
I still offer the ‘YHLB’ program and I remain part of the ‘YHLB Steering Committee’ and am always happy to be contacted by professionals who would like to offer this evidence based program to their patients/team/community.

Yoga for surfers
Trained by Peggy Hall in California and living with a Cornish surfer I may claim that yoga has not only helped my surfing but that of many famous surfers too, including Kelly Slater!
